Red Velvet Cake (Mee Maw's Recipe)

Use 9 in cake pan

Makes 3 layers

Red Velvet Cake

1 box Duncan Hines Golden Butter Cake Mix

3 eggs

1 stick margarine

1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

6 drops almond flavoring

2 bottles red food coloring

2/3 cup buttermilk

Icing

3 small packs cream cheese (softened)

1 stick margarine (softened)

Blend and add

1 box 4x confectioners sugar

(nuts?) *

Bake 18 minutes at 375.

Be sure cake layers are cool before icing

*(Nuts?) is written in Mee Maw's handwriting on the paper. Many traditional red velvet cake recipes call for pecans.
